Our Annual Concert of Giving
The beginnings of a holiday tradition
The "Holiday Concert Of Giving" was started by Joseph Pellegrini in 1999 when he was both the conductor of the Youngstown Area Community Concert Band and the Austintown-Fitch Jazz Ensemble. Both groups performed at Fitch High School and this concert continued until 2008, when Mr. Pellegrini retired from Austintown Schools. In 2010 the YACCB was given a grant by the City Of Youngstown to perform a concert at the DeYor Center. Attending the concert was a friend of Mr. and Mrs. Pellegrini, Dr. Barb Modic, who was the president of the Stambaugh Chorus. Shortly after that concert a meeting was held and it was decided that the two volunteer groups would present this benefit concert annually. In 2011 the partnership began between the Stambaugh Chorus, conducted by Dr. Hae-Jong Lee and the YACCB, conducted by Joseph Pellegrini, to raise money for the Second Harvest Food Bank.
To date, the annual "Holiday Concert of Giving" has raised close to $60,000. In 2023, nearly $5,000 was collected for the Second Harvest Food Bank. The audience was very supportive in their overwhelming display of appreciation for the music presented by the Stambaugh Chorus and YACCB.

Our Friends in the Park Concerts
Each year we invite a community band to join us at Maag Theatre in Boardman Park. Each of us plays a portion of the concert and on some occasions we have played a combined selection.
After our concert, we provide a picnic for our guests. We have met so many wonderful musicians and enjoyed sharing our love of performing band music.
