Friends and followers of the YACCB,
Happy New Year to all. We had a very rewarding fall/Christmas season of performances. We performed at a fund raising event for Lit Youngstown in October and played a fall concert in November at St. Patrick's Church. December featured performances at the Eastwood Mall, St. Luke's Church, and our 14th Holiday Concert Of Giving, at Stambaugh Auditorium. This year we raised $4,255 and our total is now in the upper $60,000 donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Next year's concert is scheduled for 2:30pm on Sunday December 14, 2025.
Our rehearsals begin on January 23 to get ready for our summer 2025 season. The theme this year is Broadway Classics. As the title suggests, we will feature the classics with music from My Fair Lady, West Side Story, South Pacific, Les Miserables, The Lion King, a wonderful medley of Andrew Lloyd Webber hits, and many others. We sincerely hope that you can attend one or more of our summer programs. This website's calendar will list the concerts as they are finalized, so check back often.
As appears the notice above, you see that the 2025 year will be my last as the conductor of the YACCB. When the last concert in December concludes, it will mark 35 years and 4 months in front of this wonderful group of musicians -- 35 years and 4 months of wonderful memories in the neighborhood of 425 concerts. It's been a blast!
